Join me for a delightful conversation with artist, illustrator and wildflower enthusiast, Melanie Chadwick!
Intro
Background
Back in early spring, I happened to see a post by fellow stacker
about her new online painting course called, Where the Wildflowers Grow.At the time, I didn’t know Melanie or anything about the stunningly beautiful Lizard Peninsula where she lives, but it was clear that this course that was going to check a lot of boxes for me. So, I signed up immediately.
What I love about the course, is that it’s so much more than an art class. Melanie has created an immersive experience by taking you outside and into the thick of it, so much so, you feel like you are sketching right alongside her.
She also takes the time to share information about why this wild and rugged region of the Cornish coast has so many wildflowers in the first place.
I loved meeting so many new wildflowers—as well as some old favorites. I don’t know about you, but I’ve only ever seen primroses growing in the grocery store, so seeing them growing in their natural environs was striking!
I was so taken with the experience, I reached out to Melanie and asked if she would be interested in an interview.
I just knew you would love learning about this wildflower-laden area of the world, and I also wanted to introduce you to Melanie too, who I think you will agree, is every bit as lovely as the wildflowers she paints.
Melanie agreed come on for a chat and also offered to share a bonus tutorial for Flora & Forage Insiders as well!
I know you are going to love meeting Melanie, the Lizard, and all the wildflowers that grow there! Enjoy!
*Special Note: In this interview, Melanie shares some lovely visuals with us, so I am presenting this as a Vlogcast. If you would prefer an audio only version, you can listen in here. And if you would rather read the interview, you can read it here.
